Love Lobster? Try The Langham, Melbourne’s Lobster Laden High Tea

February 2018…. The team at Aria Bar & Lounge at The Langham, Melbourne knows everyone loves lobster rolls. Inspired by everyone’s collective love of lobster, The Langham, Melbourne’s Executive Chef, Deepak Mishra has upped the ante and added lobster to everything from rolls and roulade to remoulade and miniature croque monsieur sandwiches.

From Monday 19 March until Friday 23 March, during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, lobster lovers can flock to Aria Bar & Lounge at The Langham, Melbourne where lobster will be the hero ingredient for high tea being served daily from 10am. There’s even a post work option of a 6.30pm twilight sitting so there’s no excuse for guests to miss out on indulging in their love of lobster.

The lobster heavy menu includes a lobster and spanner crab roll with Yarra Valley salmon roe and garlic flower, lobster remoulade with Granny Smith apple, ginger ale, compressed cucumber, citrus curd and caviar, a roulade of smoked salmon and lobster with baby radish, native lime, lobster cream and squeeze of citrus as well as a warm lobster croque monsieur with Serrano ham and Heidi Farm gruyere.

To balance out the richness of the decadent lobster, guests will also be served traditional pinwheel sandwiches with Beechworth honey-infused cream cheese, mint, cucumber, orange blossom and wasabi and a selection of scones, and no less than four sweet treats including a raspberry-cream filled profiterole, a chocolate teardrop filled with whipped blood orange mousse and chocolate tart topped with a caramel crunch.

$69.00 per adult includes Wedgwood tea or barista made espresso based coffees. $83.00 includes a bottomless glass of free-flowing premium sparkling wine.

“Lobster marries well with so many flavours but it’s pairing lobster alongside traditional high tea items that’s been really fun,” explains Mishra. “I can’t think of a better way to enjoy lobster at the moment, I’m a particular fan of the croque monsieur with lobster, I liked updating an old classic and there was a lot of going back for seconds and thirds at the menu tasting,” adds Mishra.
