Chinese New Year Specials

To celebrate the Year of the Pig, The Langham, Melbourne is showcasing an authentic Chinese menu at Melba Restaurant on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th February 2019. Chinese dishes will be prepared by the hotel’s brigade of traditional Chinese chefs.

Diners can feast on everyone’s favourite Chinese dishes from ‘Xiao Long Bao’ steamed pork buns, Har Gow dumplings and five spiced duck pancakes, five-spiced roasted crispy pork belly, chilli-marinated jellyfish, Chinese braised chicken with mushrooms and scallion, stir fried beef hor fun and Chinese desserts including hot, five-spiced pineapple crumble, Mandarin cheese cake and Chinese egg tart.

The Langham, Melbourne’s Executive Chef, Deepak Mishra has also created a number of contemporary twists on culinary classics including the addition of a Lychee Eton Mess, swapping traditional summer strawberries for fresh Lychee and oolong tea crème brulée.

There will also be plenty of fresh seafood including blue swimmer crabs, mussels, octopus, prawns and Tasmanian oysters from Melba’s renowned seafood stations.

The Langham, Melbourne’s distinctive floral display will be transformed by a decadent installation featuring gold and red blooms and guests will be given lucky envelopes and fortune cookies at dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Day!

Huat-ah” – wishing you prosperity for the year of the pig!
