Dim Yum! Cantonese Celebration for Chinese New Year

December 2017… To celebrate the Year of the Dog, The Langham, Melbourne is showcasing an authentic Chinese menu at Melba Restaurant on Thursday 15 February and Friday 16 February 2018. Chinese dishes will be prepared by the hotel’s brigade of traditional Chinese chefs.

Diners can feast on everyone’s favourite Chinese dishes from steamed pork buns, har gow dumplings and five spice roasted chicken, roasted five spice crispy pork belly, marinated jelly fish, wok-fried braised sesame chicken with flower mushrooms, Cantonese dried beef hor fun, har lok prawn and Chinese desserts including nian gao glutinous rice cake, Chinese mandarin cheesecake and Chinese pineapple tart.

The Langham, Melbourne’s Executive Chef, Deepak Mishra has also created a number of contemporary twists on culinary classics including the addition of a lychee Eton Mess, swapping traditional summer strawberries for fresh lychees and oolong tea creme brulée.

There will also be plenty of fresh seafood including blue swimmer crabs, mussels, octopus, prawns and oysters from Melba’s renowned seafood stations.

The Langham, Melbourne’s distinctive floral display will be transformed by a decadent installation featuring gold and red blooms and guests will be given lucky envelopes at dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Day.

5pm- 7.30pm or 8.30pm until 11pm
$99.00 per adult, $49.50 per child aged 4-12 and children 3 and under dine for free.

Friday 16 February 2018 – Chinese New Year’s Day
$105.00 per adult, $52.50 per child aged 4-12 year and children 3 and under dine for free.
